Standards

The daily planner includes standards sets and/or individual standards that can be attached to instructional units and activities, assessments and other curriculum resources. 
  • Available standard sets include OAS, Common Core, and Next Generation Science, among others.
  • Your own unwrapped Content, Skills, Learning Targets, Big Ideas, and Essential Questions can be added to chosen standards or standard sets.​​
  • Unwrapped standards elements are included in select standards sets (Content, Skills, Learning Targets, Big Ideas, and Essential Questions).
  • Customized standards and standard sets can be quickly and easily aligned and/or mapped to lesson plans, curriculum (units, activities), assessments (test items, rubric and checklist items, benchmarks, and real-time assessments), and reflections (portfolios, portfolio pages).
  • Google-linked Learning Targets, Big Ideas, and Essential Questions provide quick, effective ​​searches for videos, images, and other resources to include in your daily lesson plans.
  • Standards links can be embedded within your Arch-based resources (ArchDocs, curriculum, assessments, forms, portfolios, and class and member bio pages.

Create your own customized,  standards-aligned,  concept-focused curriculum maps that include resources for daily planning of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • You can add subject-specific lists of concepts essential for teaching and learning or use an existing Standards set to create a customized curriculum map incorporating all of the standards.
  • Individual concepts can be unwrapped to identify related Content, Skills, Learning Targets, Big Ideas, and Essential Questions.
  • You choose how much time will be spent on concepts, creating custom pacing guides for use across your site or district and providing easy identification of concepts to address in weekly lesson planning.
  • Standards elements (standard-specific Content, Skills, Learning Targets, Big Ideas, and Essential Questions) can be wrapped to related concept-specific topics.
  • Activities, assessments, resources, strategies, and accommodations can be linked to concepts, so they are easy to find when you want to use them.
  • A notes feature gives you a place to document other concept-specific content or resources.

Assessments

Many types of customizable assessments are available for use in evaluating student learning and/or effectiveness of instruction, including classroom quizzes, unit tests, benchmark tests, portfolios, and rubrics.
  • Test items can be aligned to standards and/or concept maps.
  • Proficiency scales can be created from standards set content and learning targets for use in assessments.
  • Curriculum-specific tests and quizzes can be aligned to standards and concepts.
  • Checklists and rubric items can be created from proficiency scales.
  • Results for online assessments, such as benchmarks, unit tests, or quizzes can be analyzed in real-time.
  • Assessments can be totally online, partially online  or paper-based.  Create online answer sheets for students  to complete using paper-based tests  for real-time results.  Print student-specific, scannable answer sheets for paper-based tests that can be scanned in later for easy grading. 
  • Conduct benchmark assessments documenting standards/concept mastery.  Benchmark assessments can be district-wide or just for one class.
  • Assessments can be shared with peers within or across districts.

  • Curriculum lessons can be assigned right from your planner for students to complete wherever they are, whether it be the classroom, at home, or on a field trip or project.
  • Classes lets you assess learning using checklists, rubrics, quizzes, tests, and real-time checks within lesson coursework without worrying about loads of paperwork.
  • Classes lets you manage interim assessments through the academic year.  Online management tools provide immediate documentation of learning progress on standards and goals.
